Hey! So it's been a while (especially for me, Louis) since there was a post here. But we are back! And this time with a new movie: THE LEGO MOVIE! So let's jump right into it.

So some of you may be thinking, "The Lego Movie? What a childish movie." or, "What a dumb concept for a movie." But it's quite the opposite. I'll admit when I first saw the original trailer for this movie, I was hyped. It looked awesome. We've all seen stop motion Lego animations on YouTube, but for the first time it was taken to the big screen and it couldn't have been pulled off any better!

This movie features an all star cast of voice actors including Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, and so many more! If you don't recognize any of the voice actors in this movie, you may be living under a rock. This was one of the many things I loved about this movie! You can't get much of a better cast then what you have here.

Another thing I loved about this movie is the lack of boundaries. When playing with Lego's, the sky's the limit, and that doesn't change when they're brought to the big screen. Anything and everything was thrown into this movie. What do I mean? Well, we see a construction worker go on a journey with Batman and along the way meet Superman, Green Lantern, Abraham Lincoln, and part of the cast of Star Wars. Where else can this happen other than a Lego Movie and make sense? I can't think of any. And that's why I loved this. There were so many cameos and surprise appearances by characters we already know and love and I felt it only added to the excitement of the movie!

As for the overall plot of the movie (without any spoilers), I loved it. It sees our hero, Emmet (an ordinary guy who works at a construction site) go off on a journey with people he meets along the way to save the world. It was simple enough that kids could love and understand it, but wasn't stale and unoriginal that adults and parents were bored watching it. There were some very creative jokes throughout the film that adults could laugh at, but weren't inappropriate for kids.

So what is my overall opinion on The Lego Movie? As you can probably tell by the beginning of almost all my sentences, I loved it! It was creative, original, and had an amazing cast of actors. I believe this is an instant classic and a movie that will last for many years to come. As long as Lego's are around in the future (which I'm sure they will be) this movie will be one we will show our kids of the next generation. I give it a 9/10!

If you haven't seen The Lego Movie yet, you should do that. It's already been out for almost 3 weeks, but I'm sure this movie isn't leaving theaters anytime soon. So you can check out showing times here:
